About
Based in Minneapolis and rooted in the lands, watersheds, and living waterways of Minnesota, Soul Terra LLC is a community of practice blending art, energy healing, and planetary health education. Founded by Dr. Angelica Walton—a nurse, scholar, and artist—Soul Terra nurtures and restores ecosocial relationships, creating pathways for healing, connection, and transformation across personal, collective, and planetary scales.
Angelica's Story & Area of Practice
My life has been shaped by place, first by growing up in New Orleans and the rhythms of the Deep South, and then by years spent living, traveling, and learning among the diverse landscapes and natural systems of the United States (the ancestral and contemporary homelands of hundreds of distinct Indigenous Nations). I have been shaped by the people I have met, the communities I have built and belonged to, the beings I have shared the outdoors with, and the wisdom gifted by our more-than-human kin, the rivers, trees, marshlands, mountains, and changing ecosystems that have been teaching me throughout my life. New Orleans gave me my earliest teachers: magnolias and cypress, wetlands and music, movement and the Mississippi River. At 22, I followed that river north to Minnesota, where I found home near its headwaters and continued exploring how place, creativity, relationship, and belonging shape health and healing. My journey as a nurse, artist, and scholar has taken me through intensive care, hospice and palliative care, community health, integrative healing, and planetary health, grounding me in a simple understanding: our wellbeing is inseparable from our relationships with one another and the living systems to which we belong. Through Soul Terra, my art, scholarship, and healing practices come together as an ongoing exploration of those relationships, and of what becomes possible when we remember how to relate, care, and belong with the more than human world.
